In July 2008, a second version of the LIF system was used in Borneo during a campaign for measurements of NO2, peroxynitrates (ΣPNs) and alkylnitrates (ΣANs).

In the summer of 2008 the TD-LIF instrument, developed by the same group, was used during this international campaign for measurements of NO2, peroxynitrates (ΣPNsand alkylnitrates (ΣANs). The OP3 campaign (Oxidant and Particle Photochemical Processes above) was organized in the Borneo forest, using a 75 m high observation tower, with the aim of investigating, among other things, the role of carried out by oil palm plantations in tropospheric chemistry in a region typically characterized by rainforest. The high-frequency measurements (10 Hz) of the TD-LIF were used to evaluate the NO2 flows through the Eddy Covariance technique.

More details on the OP3 project can be found here.
